Anatomically modern humans discovered how to make use of stone by striking long thin blades
from a prepared core by indirect pressure.  At around 100,000 years old, this blade and blade
core from Klasies River Mouth Cave,south Africa,are among the oldest artifacts yet known which
can be ascribed to anatomically modern humans.
